Any poisonous snakes, scorpions, wild bears or tigers home?
You won't find many dangerous animals in New Zealand! You have a very small chance of encountering our tiny poisons spider, the Katipo which may as well be labeled extinct as not many Kiwi's have even seen one. We also have the White Tail which is more likely to cross paths with you, however it isn't poisonous, but cant give you a nasty bite.
If you are unfortunate enough to get bitten by a spider, seek medical advice to be on the safe side.
Mosquito's and sand-flies - although they are not poisonous, they are a nuisance! We do have them almost everywhere here, so make sure to pack that insect repellent!
